  • Stacy Rene Erenberg (she/her) is an improvisational vocalist, songwriter,  and educator specializing in vocal improv and self expression.

From professionals to beginners, I welcome anyone who wants to connect with their voice and gain tools for personal expression with healthy technique. Musical and technical exercises are personalized based on each person's goals. I believe that Singers are healers and historians; that through self expression, connection to spirit, ancestors and each other, we can time travel through song.

  • Emmy Bean (she/her) is an experienced vocalist and interdisciplinary artist with roots in the northeast and the midwest.

My work spans theater, experimental performance, improvisation, folk music, classical, and chamber pop and draws from a deep well of devotion, spiritual curiosity, rage, and clownery. I see voice teaching as a supportive exchange of ideas, and a chance to share practices that have helped shape my relationship to music and my voice. I access my truest self through singing, and welcome students and collaborators who do as well.

About The Nest

We are singers who are parents; we are artists with families. The Nest is a space for singers. A place where we can practice, learn, and just be. Singers are culture workers, and The Nest is worker-owned. It is a space for individual and collective practice that is rooted in improvisation. As singers, we are often pitted against each other in an environment of manufactured scarcity. The Nest is a space for collective abundance and mutual support. It is a space where we can feel supported, build community, make music, or even just breathe and take care of ourselves in the middle of a busy week. It is for collective practice and individual artist development. There is teaching and learning; we lead workshops, classes, and share our skills together. We refuse institutional hierarchies and false valuations of sound, style, genre, and image. More art is better. More music is better. We're centering improvisation, Black American Music, women and femmes, queer and LGBTQIA+ people, calling in healing modalities, calling in play, calling in the presence of families and children, and we're calling in creative generative practices to build and sustain musical community for singers.

We are also two voice teachers who believe that singing is a deeply personal and evolving practice—one rooted in listening, embodiment, and self-love. Through an approach that blends mindful listening, vocal improvisation, a voice-body connection, and the nurturing of the voice as a living instrument, we guide each singer to build trust in their voice, explore creative freedom, and embrace their unique sound. Whether you’re learning to listen more deeply, improvise with confidence, reconnect with your body, or cultivate a loving, lifelong relationship with your voice, The Nest offers a supportive and empowering space to grow. We honor the wisdom in every singer’s journey.
